First, right before we left Jacob wanted pink socks and pink armbands to wear for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Because it is a cause that he deeply cares about (and promoted by football players, but that is just a coincidence). And since a new sporting goods store just opened in town and sent out $10 off any purchase coupons, I obliged. Anyway, he insisted on bringing the arm bands on the trip and shared one with Morgan.
We weren't supposed to check into our hotel until 4:00 and were worried about getting there too early and having to carry luggage around with us everywhere. So we only got there about 30 minutes early. And there was a LONG LINE. Apparently October is convention month in Vegas. Awesome. But not to worry. There was a yogurt bar conveniently located across from the check in desk. And Jacob just doesn't have time to deal with trivial things such as sneeze guards.
Our rooms were so big. We were so relieved because Jon, Michael, the kids and I all shared a room we got for free using Michael's points from Tunica.
Jon on a vacation!!
The view from our room. Nothing spectacular, but still nice.
Snuggling cousins.
Our hotel had a HUGE revolving door that captivated the kids. Free activity=check.
The hot tub.
This random sideways growing palm tree actually inspired Jacob to ASK for me to take his picture. I really need to figure out how to grow one in my yard. Christmas family pics, first day of school pics, misc dress up occasions-all centered around/on the sideways palm tree. Perfect.
Morgan is the one standing up and Jacob is to the right of her.
Michael and Jon went walking around the night before when we got there and saw that the pool had sand. So when we went out that morning we looked for buckets in stores but couldn't find any. When we got to the pool we found this beer bucket that someone had left. Sure.
Morgan found a group of girls to build sandcastles with.
And Jacob and Michael found a group of kids to play football with (I had brought a pool football with us. Score 1 for Mama)
Michael was randomly on another little girl's team, and not on Jacob's. I'm sure her parents didn't find that creepy at all.
That's me. Lounging. Reading a People magazine. That I swiped from Nicole's house this summer. Awesomeness.
Our hotel
At a restaurant in our hotel
We went to Circus Circus one night and played some carnival games. Jacob and Morgan both won a talking Annoying Orange...um...doll? (Annoying Orange is an ANNOYING show that feature an annoying talking orange. It's horrible. I can't be in the same room if Jacob is watching it) Anyway, Jacob and Morgan decided to make up a treasure hunt and put the clues in the safe in our room. This is Jacob's clue.
And this is Morgan's clue. She actually had hers lead to the toilet :)
I got to play with Morgan's hair :)
In our hotel
Mom didn't actually go to it, but there was a Chippendale show in our hotel.
So Jacob decided to try Subway. And he liked it. This is very exciting. I love Chick Fil A as much as the next person, but variety is always nice.
This door hanger was actually on Grammy and Grandfather's door, while ours was plain. Morgan said, "Let's switch them!" And giggled all the way.
Spring Mountains. I truly had no idea there were mountains in Nevada. #geographicallychallenged
Two cuties running around
The boy will make a football out of anything. Here we have a dead piece of wood that just so happened to be about the same size of a football.
Love
The sweetness can only last so long before the boy must break out in a goofy walk.
I will live there, thanks.
Me-"Jacob, get up there with Morgan"
Jacob-"Ok." Then proceeds to run while not looking-again with the grace
Jacob-trip, roll, stand up
Morgan-Her face shows she sees it coming
Jacob-"Did I just fall into a cactus? Can someone help me pick the pricklies out of my butt?"
Picking pricklies from his shoe. Morgan is doing her SHRILL scream (that we usually yell at her for) to make an echo.
And finally, we have the picture.
Jon gave Morgan specific directions for taking this picture: Make sure we are in the bottom right corner, make sure you can see the mountains, make sure you don't cut us off. She was probably totally stressed out.
Very high up!
Things heard on the mountain:
Shae-"Look at that guys." Referring to a really cool rock formation.
Morgan-"IS IT A GOAT?!" In a voice reflecting wonderment and excitement...
Morgan, seeing a sign that said "watch for donkeys" and in her best Shrek voice-"DUNkeys? Why would there be DUNkeys on a mountain?"

OMG I laughed a lot reading this one. So glad you had fun - makes it fun for us when you guys have a good time.
ReplyDeleteI love all of her braids! They look very elaborate.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you posted so many pics because I feel like I really am getting a glimpse of what it looks like with all of the natural stuff and the entertainment.
