The kids loved walking the strip. I really thought they would get pitiful and whiny, but they didn't. Loved it all.
In the van cab riding to the strip. It was not the cash cab-they asked. Sadness.
We ate at Gilley's which is apparently a restaurant in Urban Cowboy, an old movie that John Travolta was in. Jon was thoroughly excited about this. The rest of us had not heard of it. But, it was right next to Treasure Island, which is where they do the pirate show, so once we ordered, the kids and I walked out and watched the show.
She was pretty excited about this hairstyle. Asked for it 2 nights.
And the restaurant gave out "Wikki Stix" with their kids' menus-they were just like bendables. Fun.
It looks like Morgan got a hold of my camera at this point...
The show
The bad pirate ship is coming from the side.
Bad pirates boarding
Can't remember if I was trying to capture something in the background (the Mirage sign?) or if this was just a random selfie...
All up and down there were people dressed in elaborate costumes. You could get your picture taken with them for tips. Sort of free activity.
I got totally excited about Chewy...Might have jumped up and down a little...
Not sure, but maybe that is why Jacob wanted his picture by himself??
In front of Caesar's Palace
On the Bellagio steps
At the valet parking at the Bellagio. We didn't use it, Jon was just impressed.
This group is called Zuma Zuma and they were on America's Got Talent one season that we actually watched (don't watch it much). That was pretty cool.
At the end of the show, the guys high fived some of the audience, including Morgan and Jacob.
Random bongo player.
Waiting for the volcano to erupt at the Mirage.
Love this one. The volcano was HOT.
Michael Jackson performing the dance from Thriller. And doing it poorly, according to Morgan. We tried to get her to go up there and show him how it should be done, but she wouldn't.
The Bellagio Fountains. We all loved this the most.
We were really hoping we would randomly catch them on a slow day and get inside but there was a line wrapped around the building. So a drive by pic was what we settled for.
Welcome to Las Vegas! We actually went to see this on the last day as we did not pass it coming from the direction of Keith's house.
I got to go to Penn & Teller's show. I was so excited. This and the Bellagio Fountains were what I was most looking forward to. THEN I GOT TO MEET THEM. WHAT.
Teller totally just grabbed my phone and took this selfie.
Penn's autograph. My brothers totally took care of me on this one. When Michael and Dad went to visit Keith a few years ago, they saw Penn & Teller and The Amazing Jonathan (not as well known). They liked both shows, but The Amazing Jonathan was their fave. So this time around we were trying to decide which to do, but they knew I wanted to see these guys really bad. Then afterwards, Michael pretty much pushed our way to the front of the crowd making sure I got a pic.
Jacob had become familiar with Penn from seeing him on Celebrity Apprentice on 2 seasons. He asked me to video the show. I told him I probably would not be able to, but these guys are so awesome-they started their show with a cell phone trick that they invited everyone to video and take pics of. Then after it was over they asked people to put away their phones. Awesomeness.
Really great pictures. I am so glad Jon decided to go, because of him the kids got to see more than they would have. He has proven himself to be the "take this guy on vacation" with you. The kids had fun, we saw Keith, met Terrin - what more can you ask for from a vacation. XXXXXOOO
ReplyDeleteI am glad you got a pic with the sign. I would have been sad without it.
ReplyDeleteThose fountains are insane!!
What kind of restaurant has those cool things to entertain kids? That is amazing.
