Maverick

Maverick joined the world June 12 at 6:52 a.m.   The night before Jon, Abby, Jacob, and I had actually gone over to Hallie's house to celebrate Father's day.  She was having contractions the entire night.  Then after we left, at about 10 p.m., she and Josh went to the hospital. I made Jacob sleep in some track pants instead of pj pants in case we had to go in the middle of the night.  He looked at me like I was crazy.

Josh was SUPER awesome and kept us updated all night long about her status.  This way we didn't have to go to the hospital and stay up all night.  So even though his texts came through almost once per hour, it was SO much better than being in the waiting room all night.  Then, about 4:00, he sent a text that she was dilated 4 centimeters.  Then, about 4:30 or so she dilated to 7 centimeters so that was our cue.  Jacob and I got there about 5:30, and Jon got there about 6:30-once he got people in the store because he was the only manager scheduled.

Abby and Pam had been there all night.  So she would not pose for a pic.

Jon brought...Sonic of course!! It was all quickly gobbled down by Josh's parents, Jacob, Abby, Pam and me.

The Bauer Family!

This was the board in the delivery room.  I added his weight and arrival time so Hallie would have the picture.
Then Jacob decided to add something as well...

The nurse came in when it was time to be moved to a regular room.  She told us all which room, and then kept going on with other info.  Hallie interrupted and asked, "did you say room number 444?"  Her number in any sport she played was always #4.  It started out that way when she was younger just by coincidence.  As she got older she purposely got it.  But then the number just kept popping up like when she and Josh got their wedding license, the announcement in the newspaper was the fourth one.  And their wedding venue was new, and theirs ended up being the fourth one held there.  Just crazy.

I bought this bow at a little boutique here in Collierville, but then I added the stuff to it.
I picked the star chalk board because Hallie has always liked stars.

Hallie used this ball for...stretching??? I don't know.  But she brought it to the hospital and moving it from the delivery room to the permanent room was Jacob's contribution.

Taking him home.

When Jacob had to stay overnight in the hospital at age 4 because of a bad asthma attack, the nurse found out that he loved firetrucks and brought him this little dalmatian.  Jacob named him Fluffy and has had him sitting in his room all these years.  He decided to pass it on to Mav.  It made me sad because I liked having it in his room, but it was so sweet and it made me happy to think of Mav playing with it in the months to come.

We love him!
