How smart is this!? I wish I had thought of doing this. Leave it to a teenage to figure out a way to, ahem, "steal" a picture! Love Abby's face in the pic above-she is in the middle.

Disney!

Abby's cheer team went to Nationals this past weekend in Orlando, and originally only Jon was going to drive down there. But then, late Thursday afternoon, the day before he was leaving, we decided to make it a family trip and take Jacob.  So we did Disney in a day!! We drove down there Friday, spent all day Saturday at Magic Kingdom, then that night went to see her team compete in the preliminary round at Hollywood Studios. After her team went, we walked around Hollywood Studios, which, FYI, didn't have that much for kids. But they did have Tower of Terror ride (which freaked Jacob out) and a Star Wars section complete with a virtual reality ride.I HIGHLY recommend going in February. It was chilly enough that we wore jeans and tshirts during the day, jackets at night.  We didn't sweat, even once, and IT WAS NOT CROWDED AT ALL. Seriously, the longest we waited in line for a ride was 30 minutes, and that was for the more popular rides like Tower of Terror and Space Mountain.

Riding the shuttle from the parking lot to the park. This was great, except that it completely spoiled us. So much so that the next day, when we went to see Abby's team compete in the finals, which were held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports and not directly in Disney, we felt very put upon that we had to walk from our car to the building...

The Star Wars Show. It was really cool because it all looked so legit. I mean, Jacob of course knew it wasn't real, but it wasn't a group of people dressed in Walmart costumes either...
Hard to see, but CP3O is in the background.  Of course all the droids were there, talking and moving.
The AT-AT walker.  Jacob actually got this Lego set from Santa this year :)

Right before riding the Tower of Terror. After we got off, he said, "I think I want to take a break from rides for a little while..."
Please tell me he is not mimicking a gang sign....
Random person offered to take our pic together, which was nice, and turned out cool with the fire works in the back, but I just knew I was never going to see my camera again...

Outside of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, which was rated E for everyone (everyone being those who rode the Tower of Terror and got a little freaked out...)

Swiss Family Robinson tree house, hard to get a good pic.

Hard to see but Jacob is trying to do the thing where it looks like you are holding the building...

The preliminary round which was inside of Hollywood Studios on Saturday

Abby is the one with her back to the camera, closest to the camera.

Watching the video after the prelim round. Abby is the one standing sort of in front of and to the right of the person in the red shirt at the back. She is kind of blurry because she is jumping up in down.
Their team found out a little while after this that they made it to the finals, which was something the SBA cheer squad had NEVER done, ever, in the history of the squad. They were pretty pumped.

Final round, held in ESPN's Wide World of Sports

The 10 teams that made it to the finals waiting on the results. Our girls have their backs to us, in the white & red uniforms.

They placed 5th, which they were very happy with considering no team at SBA had ever made it to the final round before. No you do not see Abby in here. By the time we found them the girls were dispersing...I am hoping another mom has a complete group shot and posts it soon...

After the competition...

After the competition was over Sunday, we went to the Lego store. Jacob was in heaven. He had saved all of his souvenir money for this!

All of those characters are made out of Legos. Crazy. The last pic is Jacob playing with his new people from the two sets he bought, while we were waiting on our lunch at a restaurant. He would have put the whole sets together right there on the table if I had let him!
