Fall Break Pt 1

First, it is important to note that ALL members of the household enjoyed fall break....

So my hairdresser home schools her son and is in the know as far as all cool things educational are concerned.  She happened to mention that the Nina and Pinta were coming to town.  What???  Apparently someone has built life-size replicas of the Nina and the Pinta and they just sail around the the country the whole year and offer tours.  Yes.  Completely awesome.

Jacob said, "Look! A pick axe!!"  A little something he learned from a video game called Minecraft.

Once we finished checking out the ships, the kids, Michael and I took off and explored some other stuff nearby.  Mom took her time getting back to the car.  That is her in the pink...

Random Lego-looking tower that lead to a little cafe.

 Morgan doing a flip...

 And dismounting...

There were two bars and Jacob flung himself from one to the other....

(We liked this pic because of how his body is outlined with the curb)

....Morgan chose a safer way to get to the opposite bar (even though she had just done a flip 10 feet in the air).

It was a beautiful day.  That is Michael, Morgan, and Jacob running down the grassy hill.

Jacob's school does a fundraiser where they run laps around the track and get sponsers.  This is after the run.
 Erick, Julian, Jacob, Beau

Jacob is notorious for not writing down all his homework in his agenda.  But he did manage to remember to get this important date in there....

 Backwards day

 Walking to school

First day of school

Jacob and Beau have similar jackets.  Jacob is the blue one.

 He likes to coordinate

School pic day fell on a game day.  Seriously the best pic he has ever taken

Math gave us the struggle last year.  This year it is science.  So this was exciting.

The class got to have a compliment party and I brought slushes.

They do another fund raiser in art each year where the kids draw something and then we parents can order things made with the image; i.e. magnets and such :)  They also allow you to purchase a tile to go on the wall at the school.  Jacob decided to color his self portrait completely red.  So, yea. But I guess he isn't the only one with an unhealthy obsession with a color, the girl in the bottom corner likes purple a lot....

Jacob and I babysat Maverick one night.  And apparently the dogs thought we were there for them...

At one point I looked over and saw this.  Neither dog is allowed on the couch.  ESPECIALLY not the 200 hundred pound weimaraner.  So I told them to get off.

Then I sat down next to Jacob where they promptly jumped back up.  And by jumped, I mean jumped.  Even the 200 pound weimaraner.  He jumped right on top of me he did.

This was Mav, being adorable when I put him in bed.  10 seconds before he had been fussing, hence the bed.  But then he decided to be adorable.  So we played :)
